Fewer building permits issued in July compared to last year
When only buildings are concerned, 81.7% of permits related to residential buildings, and 18.3% to non–residential ones. According to the permits issued in July 2024 in the Republic of Serbia, the construction of 3,001 dwellings with average useful floor space of 74.8 m2 was recorded. Out of the total number of dwellings in new residential buildings, 12.5% of dwellings will be built in single-dwelling buildings, with average useful floor space of 140.9 m², and 85.5% of dwellings will be in buildings with three and more dwellings, with significantly smaller average useful floor space of 63.9 m².
The anticipated value of new construction works in July 2024 amounted to 79.5% of the totally anticipated value of works. Observed by areas, the greatest construction activity is expected in Mačvanska oblast, 25.4% of the anticipated value of new construction works, followed by, Beogradska oblast, 17.0% and Severnobačka oblast, 6.8%.
