The Assembly of the Joint-Stock Company Elektroprivreda Srbije has adopted new methodologies of the forming of prices of electrical energy for purchasers on commercial supply. The aim of the new methodologies, as EPS announced, is “to establish prices which satisfy the individual needs of commercial customers of EPS while maintaining the financial integrity and sustainability of the business operations.” As added, the new way of forming the prices for commercial users ensures that the prices reflect the current market conditions, while at the same time ensuring stability and predictability for customers.

The methodology for the forming of a fixed price with leveling for the full supply of end users with electrical energy which is done according to market principles, as well as the methodology for the forming of prices for the supply of end users according to agreements with previously defined quantities, the methodology for the forming of an end price with dynamic tariffing for the full supply of end users with electrical energy, the methodology for the forming of the sales price of electrical energy produced from renewable sources for the supply of end users and the methodology for the forming of the price for the electrical energy delivered by the producer-consumer according to the agreement on the full supply with a net calculation, have been adopted.

Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, the minister of mining and energy and the founder’s representative in the Assembly of EPS ad, pointed out that, with the adoption of the methodologies, Serbia had met the final structural condition of the International Monetary Fund for energy.

– The new methodologies now provide room to follow the movements in the market, in both directions, in both price drops and price jumps. The new methodology will contribute to a more efficient contracting of electrical energy supply with the purchasers in the open market in competitive conditions, considering the criteria such as the lowest price of electrical energy, the payment deadline and supply security – said Djedovic Handanovic.

As Djedovic Handanovic emphasized, the flexibility of contracting that these methodologies bring will also contribute to a more varied offer, which will result in an improvement of the energy efficiency and competitiveness of the Serbian economy, due to the possibility of the optimization of the costs of electrical energy in the final products.
