The minister of foreign affairs, Marko Djuric, stated during his first day of the visit to Baku that Serbia would be able to count on Azerbaijani gas in the upcoming winter.

The ministry announced that Djuric, after meeting the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, estimated that Serbia had a strong base for its economy in that country. Djuric estimated that Serbia worked very closely with the Azerbaijani economy, especially in the field of infrastructure.

– When it comes to energy, thanks to such meetings, but also the improved friendship which has been realized through the direct cooperation of the two energy ministries in the past years, Serbia is certain to have Azerbaijani gas in the winter, which is very important for both the industry and the heating – he said.

The head of Serbian diplomacy added that it was also of great importance that the two countries cooperated in the domain of defense and security.
