Dredging of sludge in future marina location in Smederevo begins – Agreements signed with contractor

The Port Governance Agency has signed the agreement on the dredging works in the marina in Smederevo with the company Hidro Baza Agregati Beograd.

While signing the agreement, it was pointed out that the dredging works entailed the excavation of around 50,000 cubic meters of sludge, and the completion deadline period is 150 days from the signing of the agreement, the agency said.

The representatives of the agency emphasized that the removal of the river-based accumulations in the location of the future Smederevo marina was a pre-condition for the further construction of this nautical facility.

– The City of Smederevo is encompassed by the capital project “Sail Serbia”. The marina in Smederevo is one of a total of five marinas which will be built within said project and it will be located in close proximity to the Smederevo Fortress – the agency reminds.

The favorable position of the marina will contribute to the additional development of tourism, sports and recreation and cultural features on the Danube, the agency says in its announcement.
