Works in the industrial zone in Mali Idjos are in progress. The first phase of the traffic route which is connected to the IIA-grade state road and which will stretch along the entire industrial zone, with two roundabouts, which will secure access to the parcels on the south, north and east sides, is under construction.

– The works on the first phase of the construction of the traffic route in the industrial-business zone in Mali Idjos have begun, which will contribute significantly to attracting local and foreign investors. The infrastructural equipping of the zone also envisages the construction of water supply and sewer systems, a gas pipeline and electrical and TC installations – pointed out the provincial secretary for regional development, interregional cooperation and local self-government, Aleksandar Sofic, and reminded that the Secretariat had set aside more than RSD 90 million for that purpose.

He emphasized that the equipping of the industrial-business zones was the priority of that provincial administration, being a direct opportunity for the development of the economy as a whole, the creation of new jobs, the improvement of the standard and the quality of the citizens’ lives, it is said on the website of the Provincial Government.

The president of the Municipality of Mali Idjos, Marko Lazic, emphasized that negotiations with one local investor and one foreign one were in progress.

– It is a local company which produces electrodes and welding wires. Also, there’s a Hungarian investor which plans the construction of a factory for the production of biodegradable packaging from used paper and the transport of food products. This is an investment worth EUR 11.4 million, and the factory will employ more than 140 workers – said Lazic.

As soon as the works in the industrial zone in Mali Idjos are completed, 250 workers are expected to be employed.
