What will the big aquarium in Usce look like? – Building of 5,000 m2 to be located underground and have a glass façade facing the Great War Island

An aquarium is one of the new features envisaged in the plan for the development of the Friendship Park-Usce, and in addition to it, this space should also feature a new skate-park, the 21st Century Art Museum, as well as the first own building of the Natural History Museum.

According to the team that won the urban-architectural contest for the area of the Friendship Park-Usce, the new Natural History Museum building will be located between the Palace of Serbia and the Great War Island, and the aquarium will be in its extension in the direction toward Zemun.

The plan is for the new museum building and the aquarium to be underground, except that their facades, facing the Great War Island, will be open, that is, made of glass.

The aquarium building will spread on 5,000 m2 and be, according to representatives of the city authorities, “a true tourism attraction, which will entertain, but also educate the visitors. The youngest ones, but also the older ones, will be able to learn about the underwater world and the living organisms in it.”
