By the end of November this year, six “green stations” with 30 chargers will be installed on Serbian highways, and then, over the next five months, two stations will be installed each month, announced the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

As he reminded, the ministry and the PE Roads of Serbia have carried out the tender for the installation of 16 “green stations” on which it is possible to install at least five and, at most, twenty chargers for electric cars. These stations, he added, will have, in addition to chargers with a power of at least 150 kilowatts, solar panels, toilets, stores, cafes and children’s playgrounds. They will be located on the existing rests on the highways.

– We will thereby have 80 new chargers for electric cars by May next year. Depending on the number of electric cars and the demands of the market, at each “green oasis”, it is possible to install 20 chargers per space at the most, which means that, at these “green oases”, we will have 320 new chargers when the system is fully operational. The chargers that we are installing are produced in Serbia – pointed out Vesic.

The ministry he is heading, as he added, has commissioned the study for the installation of solar panels along the existing network of highways in Serbia, which is the basis for the opening of an international tender. On the existing thousand kilometers of highways, it is possible to install around two thousand kilometers of solar panels. These panels, in the populated places, will at the same time serve as noise-protection panels.

– We will produce electricity on the highways. In addition to the chargers for electric vehicles on Serbian highways, at the entrances to Serbia from Hungary, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Croatia, we will enable charging with hydrogen for trucks above all, which increasingly use hydrogen as fuel. In the coming months, the Law on Infrastructure for Alternative Fuels, whose draft has already been prepared, will be sent to the National Assembly of Serbia – Vesic announces.

Let us remind that the companies ITECH Corp and Elcom BGD will finance the construction of 16 green stations on local highways.

The future “green stations”, let us remind, will be built in 16 locations, namely, on the Belgrade-Subotica highway, in the direction toward Subotica at the Lovcenac and Bikovo rests, whereas, in the direction toward Belgrade, they will be in the locations of the former Sirig toll station and the Kovilj rest.

On the Belgrade-Nis highway, they will be built at the Sepskin rests in both directions, whereas in the direction toward Nis, there will be an additional one at the Boboviste rest, and in the direction toward Belgrade, at the Markovac rest. The “green stations” on the Nis-Presevo highway will be located at the Prevalac rest in the direction toward Presevo and the Cokot rest in the direction toward Belgrade.

In the direction toward Sid, on the highway from Belgrade, there will be one at the Budjanovci rest, whereas in the opposite direction, a green station will be built at the Martinci Jug rest.

On the Milos Veliki highway, the future green stations will be located at the Takovo rests in both directions, whereas on the Nis-Dimitrovgrad highway, they are planned at the Sinjac rests, also in both directions.
