Vucevic about lithium: All development projects should be discussed, but there’s no gambling with ecology

There should be discussion about all the projects for the development of the state, including lithium, but there’s no gambling with ecology, pointed out the prime minister of Serbia, Milos Vucevic. He said for RTS, when asked whether Serbian lithium would stay in the country, that there should be discussion about all the projects for the development of the state and that experts should have their say about it.

Vucevic, the leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party, added that he believed in “sustainable development as a winning formula.”

– I’m leaving room for discussion and I am, above all, waiting for the experts to have their say – if the experts say no, then it means no – he assures.

He also noted that “the experts need to be aware of their responsibility.”

– I believe that it is possible to use natural resources and protect the natural wealth and, above all, people… I think it’s a historic opportunity – he said.

Vucevic added that no project, including that one, would start without clear projects which point to the possibility of using the natural resources, while protecting the environment and, above all, people.

However, as he said, if possible, the opportunity should be taken.

When asked which option he veered toward, he answered that he was always in favor of the development of Serbia and the use of all the potentials of the country.
