Four local companies to do control geological explorations for first phase of second subway line of 11.5 km in length
The first phase of the second line of the Belgrade subway from the Bezanija Depot station (including the station) to the Mercator station (including the station), at which it is necessary to carry out the control geological explorations, as pointed out, encompasses a section 11.5 km long and it will have 12 stations, 8 evacuation-ventilation shafts (manholes), 11 interstation tunnel sections and one cut-and-cover tunnel section.
The main purpose of the documentation is to supplement the data obtained through the detailed geological-geotechnical terrain explorations for the needs of the preliminary design, which were carried out in the 2021-2023 period. Among other things, it is necessary to determine the precise position and orientation of the contacts of the lithological layers in places where there are certain uncertainties, as well as the state and the characteristics of the terrain and the rock bodies. Exploration works, it is added, are mandatory on the parts of the route which are not sufficiently “covered” by the previous explorations or on those parts of the route where the complexity of the geological composition requires additional clarifications.
– It is also necessary to define the geotechnical conditions and recommendations for the construction of the future subway line. The preparation of the documentation should encompass the analysis of the observed space in the interactive zone, 50 meters to the left and 50 meters to the right of the axis of the corridor of the first phase of the second subway line. The preparation of the geological documentation is based on the existing engineering-geological and geotechnical documentation whose results will be supplemented with the results of the new explorations. For the needs of the preparation of the Geological Study of the documentation, an analysis of the results of all the existing geological explorations within the corridor of the first phase of the second subway line, as well as all the documentation which dealt with similar or identical terrains to the one through which the route of the first phase of the second subway line will pass, needs to be carried out – says the tendering documentation.
As for the manner of the construction of the first phase of the second line of the Belgrade Subway, on the section from the Bezanija Depot station to the Marka Celebonovica Street station, the cut-and-cover method is planned to be used for a length of 1.2 km. From the Marka Celebonovica Street station to the survey mark at 10 km, a tunnel is planned, which will be formed by a tunnel boring machine (TBM), a so-called “mole”.
