Renovation of airports in Podgorica and Tivat, investment of about 30 million EUR
At the moment, public company "Aerodromi Crne Gore", which manages two airports in Podgorica and Tivat, is engaged in realization of one of the most valuable investments in Montenegro, which is related to renovation and modernization of these two airports.
Nearly 30 million EUR will be invested in the works. The completion of the works is expected at the beginning of summer season.
Hiring of foreign building companies"Alpina Mayreder" and "Sivas", as well as procurement of up-to-date airport technology from "Siemens", along with the supervision by British company "Etkins", are enabled thanks to the loans approved to the Government of Montenegro for this purpose by European Investment Bank, International Fund for Reconstruction and Development and partly from the budget of Montenegro. The installation of navigation and security equipment, construction of runway, airplane parking places and new passenger terminal are coming to an end at the Podgorica airport. About 9 million EUR will be invested in the new airport building of 5,500 square meters.
Minor share of the money for renovation will be invested in Tivat-based airport, which will be prepared for landings and takeoffs by night.
The installation of new 5 million EUR worth of radar system in Zeta is also very important.
