Rehabilitation of "Sava" Center, Parliament of Belgrade set aside over €2m - telecommunications, computer network, furniture, roof, audio system...

Since the opening until today, for the last 28 years, 7,000 domestic and international congresses, meetings and manifestations with over 1,600,000 participants have been held in ``Sava`` Center.

Shortly before the annual meeting of European Bank for Rehabilitation and Development, which is scheduled for end of May 2005, founder of ``Sava`` Center, Parliament of Belgrade, set aside over €2m for necessary investment works on this building.

In the first phase of rehabilitation, improvement and modernization of internal communications system is planned. That includes works on installation of new main phone exchange, establishment of modern computer network, enhancement of supervision system, audio system, exchange of part of furniture, increase in number of halls, partial repair of roof, improvement of visual identity. The team of congress organizers believes that the works will be finished before the deadline, which is May 15, 2005. Next week, it will be worked on establishing of computer network with 200 state-of-the-art computers, project dossier will be completed and it will be followed by annunciation of the tender for rehabilitation of the most endangered spots on the roof whose surface is 18,000 square meters. In the meantime, one of the delegates of the World Bank will be coming every week to supervise the works.
