The procurement of two new wide-body airplanes for the national airline carrier Air Serbia is in progress, and one will arrive in July, and the other in September this year, announced the minister of finance of Serbia, Sinisa Mali, at the Kopaonik Business Forum.

As he added, lines to Guangzhou and Shanghai will be opened immediately.

– We will have three lines to China. We have two lines to the USA and we are considering another one, to Miami – said Mali and thereby confirmed the announcement made by president Aleksandar Vucic several days before.

He pointed out that Air Serbia flew to the east and the west and that it was important for Serbia due to the opening of new markets, especially Asia.

The minister of finance reminded that China’s share in the global GDP was 17-18%, that it grew and that it was equal to the share of Europe, whose share was dropping.

– The Free Trade Agreement with China is a huge exporting opportunity for Serbia. We have to open new markets, we have to be aware of the growth tendencies and trends, although the European Union is still the dominant trade partner for us – Mali said.
