Online Purchase of Snow Tires Jumps 190% in Serbia Since Beginning of Cold Wave

In the past week, since this year’s first cold wave hit Europe, the consumers have started purchasing the necessities for these winter conditions online. The price comparison portal Jeftinije.hr has published the data about what the citizens of central and eastern Europe have been browsing these days.

In Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, the citizens have had similar needs. On the platforms of Heureka Group, to which the Jeftinije.hr portal also belongs, the demand for snow tires, car batteries and snow chains, but also equipment for winter sports, has increased.

In Serbia, an increase in the demand for snow tires of 190% has been recorded, and Serbs have also been browsing suitcases for traveling. It’s interesting to note that, in this week, in which temperatures below zero have been recorded, cooling devices have also been browsed, more precisely, refrigerators with freezers. Czech, Slovak and Hungarian consumers have had some other preferences in the past week. Among the most browsed categories on the platforms of Heureka Group in those markets have been car batteries, snow chains and equipment for winter sports.

Croatian and Slovenian consumers have also browsed snow tires the most, as well as skiing equipment. The demand for snow tires in Croatia has grown nearly 106% compared to last week, and the demand for ski boots has increased 69%. Croatians have also increasingly browsed year-round tires, whereas Slovenians have mostly browsed skis, with the demand jumping 201%, ski boots and, of course, snow tires.

Hungarians have been interested in heating equipment the most – the demand for air-conditioning devices has grown 76%, for radiators 67%, and for boilers 42%. Boilers have been increasingly in demand in Slovakia as well, where, just like in the Czech Republic, the top spot on the list of the most demanded products belongs to car batteries after all. Slovaks have also browsed snow goggles a lot, whereas Czechs have turned their attention to snowboard helmets and snow chains.
