During his visit to Kenya, occasioned by the 90th session of the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Mombasa, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development Goran Petkovic met with the officials of that organization.

UNWTO Secretary General Taleb Rifai and executive directors Frederick Pierre and Zoltan Szomody reached an agreement with Petkovic on cooperation in the organization of an international conference on sustainable development of rural tourism, which will be held in Serbia on February 22 and 23, 2012.

The conference will be opened by Rifai who will, during his visit to Serbia, meet with the officials of our country and open the Tourism Fair in Belgrade, which will be held in the last week of February.

It was also agreed that Pierre would ceremoniously open the event Investment Conference on November 24, 2011, which should make it possible for investors, representatives of public sector and non-government organizations to get familiar with investment opportunities in the tourism sector of Serbia and the region.
