The Government of Serbia has amended the Decree on the Program of Inciting Youth Employment “My First Salary” by increasing the monthly compensation for the young within this program.

According to the amendments to the Decree, young people with secondary education will receive RSD 28,000 instead of the current RSD 25,000 a month, and young people with higher education will receive RSD 34,000 instead of the current RSD 30,000.

The decree comes into effect upon publication in the Official Gazette, and the beneficiaries of the program who started realizing the right before the day the decree comes into effect continue to realize the right in line with the agreement they signed.

Let us remind that the My First Salary program enables young people to train themselves for unassisted work on concrete jobs. The program aims to incite youth employment, with previous training and the acquisition of the first work experiences, as well as to support the economy in solving the problem of the dearth of workforce.

During the nine months of the program’s duration, the candidates receive a monetary compensation from the state. The money is paid directly to the users through the National Employment Service, and the employers can also pay an additional sum.
