World’s Best Hotel for 2023 (VIDEO)
Passalacqua, a luxury villa from the 18th century with a view to Lake Como in Italy, is pronounced the best hotel in the world this year. This boutique hotel has 24 rooms in three buildings on seven hectares of perfectly maintained terraced gardens full of olive trees, mimosas, roses and magnolias.
The villa was once owned by the composer Vincenzo Bellini. It is richly decorated, and the original frescos and engravings on the ceiling are additionally decorated with gilded mirrors. The space is pleasant and luxurious, just so that it is not too opulent.
The hotel restaurant offers simple, excellent food, with a relaxing atmosphere. Everything is fine-tuned for enjoyment. The guests often wander into the kitchen to talk to the main chef, who is always in the mood for a conversation.
Passalacqua is a unique hotel. It was originally raised as a place by the lake for friends, for love and leisure, for eating well and for the Italian art of “dolce far niente”, which translates as “the sweetness of doing nothing”, and is there anything sweeter and more carefree than that?
