Djedovic: Krivelj Settlement Should Be Moved as Soon as Possible

It is necessary to finalize, as soon as possible, the program bases of moving and their acceptance by the residents and the company Serbia Zijin Copper, which will be an integral part of the Spatial Plan of the Special-Purpose Area of the Bor-Majdanpek Mining Basin, said the minister of mining and energy, Dubravka Djedovic.

While talking with the members of the Council of the Local Community of Krivelj about the preparations for the moving of that settlement due to the expansion of the mining activities, she said that the mining sector was the driving engine of the economic growth and development in eastern Serbia, making it necessary for Serbia Zijin Copper, the City of Bor, the competent ministry and other state institutions to do everything in order to find a sustainable solution for the residents of this settlement in an open dialogue with them.

– The Ministry of Mining and Energy will continue following the dynamics of the preparation and the realization of the moving of the settlement of Krivelj – the minister said, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

Djedovic reminded that the competent ministry had detected the key problems related to the solving of the issue of the moving of Krivelj at the beginning of 2023 and that all the identified problematic points had been harmonized in principle. She added that it was necessary for the first phase of the moving to start as soon as possible.
