Government Adopts Bill Amending Law on Energy

At yesterday’s session, the government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Bill Amending the Law on Energy, which harmonizes the national legislation in the field of energy with the Acquis Communautaire and solves the issue of full implementation in a comprehensive and efficient manner relevant regulations of the Union, the government announced on its website.

The proposed amendments, among other things, establish the Republic Commission for Power Grids as an independent state organ for the control of the operators of the power transfer system and the operators of the natural gas transport system, whose founder is the Republic of Serbia, whereas control over energy subjects, which carry out the activities of production, distribution and supply of electrical energy, that is, natural gas, will be done by the Government of Serbia.
