Serbia Working on Exports with Added Value of Finished Agricultural Products – Open Balkans Brings Savings of EUR 1.5 Billion

– The important fact is that, in the past period, we have primarily been an exporter of raw ingredients, whereas now we are systemically working on shifting to exports with added value of finished products – explained Tanaskovic, as announced on the website of the ministry.
She also pointed out that the Open Balkans initiative “has shown how important it is and how much it means to everybody.”
– In the past period, the three countries which are part of this initiative, have saved over 30 million hours thanks to the free movement agreement. The estimate of the World Bank says that the savings from the Open Balkans initiative amount to around EUR 3 billion, of which one half goes to Serbia – Tanaskovic explained.
