"Railways of Serbia" Project - to Belgrade airport by train

Passangers will be able in few years time to reach Belgrade airport by train. This information, as said, is not an idea without carefully planned process, but a project that's been waiting for its realization for years.

The news that it is seriousley planned to conduct such an idea was confirmed by Milanko Sarancic, general director of Serbia Railways, with announcement that the whole deal is at the moment analyzed in the Ministry of capital investments.

He says that they are looking for a solution which would make this creative project of connecting airport with the railway station possible. It is almost certain that in the next years bugdet in Serbia there would be found money for covering the first phase of works on this project.

According to the first research, says Sarancic, a possibility of the railway track is looked into, which would be between 10-11 km long. If this idea becomes reality, passangers would be able to get to the airport from the center of the city in 10 minutes. Todays longitude of the road to the airport is 18 km.
