Nis Planning Re-Introduction of Trams – Study of Moving Railroad from City Center to Be Prepared
Sotirovski emphasized that the City of Nis was preparing the study of the moving of the railroad together with the French Development Agency, as announced on the city’s website.
The seminar was held at the Science-Technology Park (STP) in Nis, organized by the Embassy of France.
The seminar also included the ambassador of France, Pierre Cochard, a delegation of the French city of Nice, as well as representatives of the Serbian diaspora from the Azure Coast. Previously, the heads of Nis visited Nice, as the winners of the Smart Cities contest, organized by the Embassy of France.
Cochard congratulated the City of Nis for its victory at the contest the previous year and said that the gathering was an opportunity for local self-governments from Serbia and France to exchange examples of good practices and to implement the best solutions.
The tram system in Nis functioned in the mid-20th century. It was operational between 1930 and 1958.
