The Chinese company Haitian International plans to expand the production and logistics network in Europe by building a modern facility of 250,000 m2 in Ruma. The production is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, the company announced.

The foundation stone was laid down on April 20, and the construction works are expected to begin this autumn. Phase 1 will entail the construction of 161,000 square meters, including Hall A of 59,000 square meters, as well as office space and a building for employees with an internal cafeteria. According to the current plant, the facility is planned to start working in 2025.

– With this investment in the center of the Balkan peninsula, Haitian International is setting another milestone in its global strategy. This includes the construction of new infrastructure and a location for the strengthening of international competitiveness in the long term. The company also wants to be more resilient to the crisis, primarily the growing costs of transport and logistics bottlenecks – the company says.

As announced earlier, the company Haitian Machinery will build a factory complex for the production of industrial injection machines and cutting and casting machines in Ruma, and the production of a total of 250 machines a year is planned, as can be seen from the preliminary design of the project, prepared by the Belgrade-based company Masinoprojekt Kopring.

The owner of the company, which was registered in Ruma in April last year, is the Chinese Haitian Plastics Machinery Group, which signed an agreement on the sale of the land with the municipality last summer.

This Chinese group, the biggest world producer of machines for injection under pressure, announced at the time that it would invest USD 100 million in the factory and that it would bring four industries to Ruma – the production of machines for injection, CNC machines, machines for casting under pressure and automation.

– Ruma is an ideal location for us, to be able to directly supply our clients in East Europe and the Middle East with our Mars and Jupiter machines. In Serbia, we have already built a big base, for which the new center will enable a better service – said the CEO of Haitian International, Sun Yiming.

Zhang Bin, the deputy general manger of Haitian Group, added that a very efficient synergy of the whole production and side services would be enabled, from Haitian Smart Solutions for automation, MES systems, or individual production systems.
