PowerChina Resources to Invest in Wind Farm Vetrozelena of CWP Europe



On behalf of PowerChina Resources, the agreement will be signed by the deputy general manager of the company, He Shiyou, whereas on behalf of CWP Europe, the agreement will be signed by the CEO of the company, Dimitar Enchev. The signing will be attended by the president of PowerChina International JI Xiaoyong, the ambassador of China to Belgrade, Chen Bo, and the deputy minister for international cooperation and European Integration at the Ministry of Mining and Energy, Jovana Joksimovic.
The wind farm Vetrozelena is a renewable energy project which CWP Europe is developing in the territory of the city of Pancevo. It is the second such project that CWP is developing in Serbia, with a planned installed power of 300 MW and 48 wind generators.
By investing in the project of the wind farm Vetrozelena, new conditions are being created for a further development of clean energies in Serbia, a reduction of the pollution and environmental preservation, it is said in the announcement of the event.
The two companies are in a unique position to implement global know-how and specific regional experience by joining forces for the first time in the Serbian market.
CWP Europe is a leader in the development of RES projects in southeast Europe. In the past 15 years, CWP has invested in sustainable development and energy transition in the region and has already successfully developed some of the biggest wind farms in the region, such as the biggest wind farm in Europe – the Fântânele-Cogealac project of 600 MW in Romania.
It is currently developing over 6 GW of capacities of renewable energy in Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Moldova and Ukraine.

It currently has and runs 23 investment projects with a total global capacity of 5,333.5 MW. The total assets in 2022 amounted to 60 billion yuan (EUR 8.3 billion).
