Football Association of Serbia Confirms Construction of New Stadiums in Another Four Cities

The construction of new football stadiums in Zajecar, Loznica and Leskovac is in progress, and the Football Association of Serbia has confirmed that Belgrade, Pancevo, Zrenjanin and Kragujevac will also get new stadiums. They also remind that the construction of the National Stadium, with a capacity of 55,000 seats, should start this year.

– It is important to emphasize that, thanks to the initiative and investments of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, our country will soon get three new stadiums in Leskovac, Loznica and Zajecar, which meet the strict UEFA standards. New stadiums will also be built in Pancevo, Belgrade, Zrenjanin, Kragujevac, with a reminder that, this year, the construction of the National Stadium, with a capacity of 55,000 seats, is definitely to start – says the website of the Football Association of Serbia.

It is added that the members of the Executive Board of Football Association of Serbia are familiar with the current situation in Serbia in terms of infrastructure, the condition of the stadiums and the licensing conditions.

– In line with the provisions of the relevant rulebooks on the licensing of clubs of the Football Association of Serbia for tournaments organized by UEFA, the Super League and the First League, that is, meeting the infrastructure criteria, 44 stadiums in Serbia were visited. For the first time, the licensing procedure involves the clubs of the Serbian leagues (Group 4) which have filed requests for obtaining the license for competing in the First League for the 2023/2024 season – says the Football Association of Serbia.
