Ice cream from Nova Pazova for Gazprom restaurants - Ice Cream Factory produces frozen dough and French fries as of June

The company Ice Cream Factory, famous for the production of quality ice cream in family pack, is going to launch four new flavors of ice cream this season. As Ice Cream Factory owner Radosav Komadinic announces for eKapija, the factory in Nova Pazova will also be producing frozen dough and French fries as of June.

- This year we plan to start producing four new flavors of ice cream in 1,650 ml packaging - vanilla, forest fruits, and two kinds of chocolate. We are also preparing a surprise for kids since we are going to launch ice cream in smaller packaging in May. The production of frozen French fries under Fantasy brand will start in June 2011, and we also plan to produce frozen dough under the same brand. New products will be available during the whole year and we also plan to offer them to the market of Russia - says Mr. Komadinic.

Ice Cream Factory, which started the production of ice cream in April 2010, has also started producing frozen vegetables under the name of Food Fantasy.

- We are preparing about 300 tonnes of frozen vegetables for the market of Serbia in 2011, and we also plan to start exporting these products to Russia.

Thanks to the continuous export of ice cream to Russia, Ice Cream Factory from Nova Pazova has also won this year's special Exporter of The Year award in the category of small and medium-sized enterprises, which is granted by the Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Serbia (SIEPA).

- We are present in Ural region in Russia. We have already been three times in Moscow and found a distributor there. We also participated in a food fair that gathered world-famous ice cream manufacturers from Russia and other countries. Ice Fantasy ice cream was the only ice cream from Serbia at that fair and we won the award for quality. We were also invited on that occasion to participate for free in a two-week promotion of our brand at Red Square in Moscow in May - says our interlocutor.

The products of Ice Cream Factory can be found in stores throughout Russia, as well as at Gazprom restaurants.

- We have also signed export agreements with Arabian countries, but the current political situation in these countries prevent us from fulfilling them. Because of that, we have stopped the delivery of 24 containers to a company in Bahrain – says Mr. Komadinic.

Ice Cream Factory also exports ice cream to surrounding countries.

- We are present in Macedonia and Montenegro and we also supply ice cream to restaurants and hotels during the tourist season. A distributor of frozen products in Croatia likes our ice cream, but we do not export products to that country due to high export duties, which amount to 20%. In accordance with CEFTA Agreement, these duties were supposed to be revoked in the first quarter of this year, but it seems that it was only an empty promise by the government.

Ice Cream Factory is also present in Mercator supermarkets in Montenegro and Albania.

The company plans to start the production of a new ice cream next year.

- We plan to launch a sub-brand of ice cream in 2012, of which quality and price will be lower, in order to be able to counter the competition that does not take much care of the quality. We will keep our premium brand Ice Fantasy whose quality attracts buyers – says Mr. Komadinic.

Mr. Komadinic also states that his company has collected 96% of claims because they carefully choose their business partners. The company plans to export 70% of products in 2011.

- Sales in our country should amount to 60%, but we are unable to achieve that due to unfair competition and because Frikom does not allow other manufacturers to develop. Therefore, we are focused on export, but I believe that we will conquer the family pack ice cream market in Serbia in three years.
