The Municipality of Vrnjacka Banja has published the tender for the preparation of the preliminary design for the construction of the Vrnjacka Banja-Goc Gondola.
According to the project task, the aim of the construction of the gondola is to most efficiently connect two well-known tourist locations – Vrnjacka Banja and Goc, which would extend the tourist season and enrich the offer.
The location on which the construction is planned is from the core center of Vrnjacka Banja, where the entry station would be positioned, all the way to the peak of the Goc mountain center, where the exit station is planned, with the Lipova interstation at around two thirds of the length of the planned route.
The length of the gondola line is planned at 6,950 meters, with around 108 cabins and 47 columns on the route. The projected speed is 6 m/s, and the cabins will have a capacity of 10 people.
The gondola will feature carriers for skis, snowboards, mountain bikes, wi-fi cabins, heated seats and a cabin with additional entertainment features.
At the interstation and the exit station, restaurants, gift shops, summer toboggans and ziplines are planned.
The construction of access roads and other traffic routes, a mini facility for the treatment of waste waters and a parking lot should also be envisaged.
The tender worth RSD 18.3 million is open until April 25.
As announced earlier, the gondola from Vrnjacka Banja to Goc will be called “Novak Djokovic” and be built in partnership with the Djokovic family.
The president of the municipality of Vrnjacka Banja, Boban Djurovic, said in late 2022 that the construction of the gondola would start in mid-2023.
