Government Adopts Ethical Guidelines for Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Serbian government adopted yesterday the Conclusion by which ethical guidelines for the development, application and use of reliable and responsible artificial intelligence are being adopted, and the goal is to introduce a preventive mechanism that will enable the responsible development of this type of intelligence and ways of verification - that the systems based on machine learning are in accordance with the highest ethical and security standards, the Government of Serbia says in a press release.

– An ethical approach and security in the development of artificial intelligence need to be secured primarily in the sense of personal data protection, discrimination protection in the implementation of machine learning and the establishment of responsible development of artificial intelligence in line with international ethical principles – says the website of the Government of Serbia.

As pointed out, artificial intelligence cannot be viewed as a phenomenon on the regional level, but in a wider context of the world which is changing fast and developing and represents a synergy of economy and science in order to adequately respond to new and unknown challenges.

– The guidelines have been prepared in line with the international standards through the operations of the work group of experts from the private, academic and non-governmental sectors, and they are not binding – the press release says.
