Begovic: Construction of Bio 4 Campus at End-Year, EUR 300 Million for First Phase
While guesting on RTS, Begovic announced that the construction of the complex “will begin at the end of the year and the very detailed designing processes are in progress.”
– The estimate for the construction of the first phase is around EUR 300 million. We got a loan of EUR 200 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction as a start, so the funds have been secured and we are starting this year – Begovic said.
On a total area of 20 ha, the future camp will be located in the same part of the city as the Torlak Institute, the Medicines Agency and the Faculty of Pharmacy, so this is an already natural environment that will be expanded.
– The entire faculties of biology and pharmacy and parts of the faculties of agriculture, medicine, technology and metallurgy and chemistry which can contribute to the fields that the campus will be active in will be moved to Bio 4 Campus – she clarified. Also, there will be nine science institutes within the campus.
There will also be research centers of large and medium companies, so that they would have access to expert projects.
– Everybody will be in one place, working on new solutions together. We will have a museum and various features, where the citizens will be able to come and communicate with us and see what the benefits of all the new technologies are – Begovic said.
