The construction of the third facility of the State Data Center, our first future Innovation District and the only one in this part of Europe, will contribute to an even better image of Serbia in the world, and the incentive for potential investors, new jobs and additional economic value will be important as well, stated the minister of information and telecommunications of Serbia, Mihailo Jovanovic.

He attended the presentation of the concept of the construction of the third phase of the State Data Center in Kragujevac for its expansion and its turning into the Innovation District.

In addition to the existing two state-of-the-art facilities of the State Data Center in Kragujevac, which were built in line with the highest technical and safety standards, the Innovation District will spread on 56,000 m2 and is designed as a creative-innovative, digital center with entertainment and sports features.

The center will be meant for members of the IT community and the fact that it will be open to citizens and visitors is what will set it apart. The commercial tenants at the State Data Center will get the necessary office space in it, and the National Center for Information Security (cyber security) will have a special place.

The facility will also feature separate spaces for IT, the Smart City Center for the development of smart energy systems, the networking of smart infrastructure, a center for the promotion of digitization, a section for bioinformatics and bioengineering with a space for research and laboratories, as well as an education center for student training.

The fifth science-technology park in Serbia will also be built in the Innovation District, which will create new jobs for engineers, IT workers and residents of Kragujevac and the surrounding area.

The architect Andjela Karabasevic held a presentation and showcased the preliminary design of the future look of this unique complex, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.
