Prime Minister of AP Vojvodina Dr. Bojan Pajtic and Director of the Vojvodina Investment Promotion Fund Branislav Bugarski spoke yesterday in the premises of the Government of Vojvodina with Belgian Minister and Chairman of the Board of Belgian company Electrawinds Johan Vande Lanotte, Ambassador of Belgium to Serbia Alain Kundyckim and Paul Desender, the company's owner.

The company Electrawinds in Serbia plans to invest in several municipalities in Vojvodina, including the municipality of Indjija. The company Energo Zelena, a daughter company of Belgian Electrawinds, engaged in the ecological management of animal waste, and the Directorate for Development of Indjija signed a EUR 22 million contract last year. The contract envisages construction of an animal waste treatment plant, which would be producing electric energy from animal fat and employ 100 people.

This is the first investment of the Belgian company in Serbia, which is the biggest private company in the field of renewable energy sources in Belgium. Belgian investors are also interested in building a wind farm in the municipality of Alibunar with the capacity of 48.3 MW, that is, in installing 21 turbines, four of which would be installed in the first phase.

- Since the company Electrawinds is one of the European leaders in the field of the production of energy from renewable sources, I am satisfied with the fact that Belgian investors are ready for large investments in Serbia, which is why we are honored to hear that several municipalities in Vojvodina will get a chance to develop their economies, new investments and new jobs. When it comes to administrative and technical activities, a big support will be provided by both the Vojvodina Investment Promotion Fund and Razvojna Banka Vojvodine (the Development Bank of Vojvodina) - Prime Minister Pajtic said at the end of the meeting.
