The PE Roads of Serbia has submitted to the competent ministry the request for deciding on the necessity of the preparation of the environmental impact assessment study of the project of the Vranjska Banja interchange.
According to the preliminary design that was prepared by
Institut za puteve ad Beograd, the plan is to build a de-leveled intersection Vranjska Banja, of the “trumpet” type, with a full program of connections, on the highway A1 (E-75) Belgrade-Nis-North Macedonian border, section Vladicin Han-Donji Neradovac.
The orientation position of the interchange, according to the preliminary design, is km 534+200 of the highway A1 (previously km 915+080).
The explanation says that the planned interchange Vranjska Banja is in the function of connecting Vranjska Banja, now of national, and in perspective, also of international tourist importance, as well as connecting the existing IIB-grade state road no. 442 and Kriva Feja with the built section of the highway.
Indirectly, the interchange will also connect the Prvonek dam and the ski resort Besna Kobila through the highway IIB-442.
It is noted that the current connection of Vranjska Banja with Vranje and the highway is realized through the passing of the main railroad on the same level and the passing across the South Morava river by a steel bridge whose profile allows use in only one direction at a time, because it contains only one driving lane.
