The CEO of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, has stated that Serbia has already reserved 300 million cubic meters of gas at the LNG terminal in the Greek port of Alexandroupolis.

Bajatovic said that Serbia would diversify gas supply sources, considering that the country needed, in addition to the two billion cubic meters of gas that it bought from Russia according to the oil formula, another billion cubic meters of gas in order to be fully safe in every respect and be able to produce electrical energy.

– We will practically be able to receive gas from the Austrian Baumgarten hub, then through Hungary, Bulgaria and Greece. We will also have access to the Greek LNG terminals Revithoussa and Alexandroupolis. I believe that the terminals will be finished this year and the we will be able to feel some effects. We might also get a little something from the TAP (Trans-Adriatic Pipeline) and TANAP (Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline) gas pipelines – said Bajatovic.

He noted that he didn’t know whether Serbia could sign any long-term agreements, but that it could take some surpluses from the traders arising from the balancing of the systems, or in case companies went bankrupt and nobody took over the gas.

– When the LNG terminal Alexandroupolis is launched, Serbia will already have 300 million cubic meters reserved – Bajatovic said.

He added that, in addition to the gas we bought from the Russians according to the oil formula, we had also bought an additional 600 million cubic meters, as he said, some of it from the mix with the Russians at a 70% market price of TTF, and 30% according to the oil formula.
