In Prijepolje, within the second phase of the “Development of the Biomass Market in the Republic of Serbia” program, the plan is to build a biomass heating plant.
The Ministry of Mining and Energy, together with the German Development Bank KfW, is carrying out the “Development of the Biomass Market in the Republic of Serbia” program, which pertains to the construction of a central heating system, that is, biomass heating plants in the towns of Priboj, Mali Zvornik, Novi Pazar and Majdanpek. The Municipality of Prijepolje will be part of Phase 2 of this project, and the advantage is that, in this case, the subsidy will be twice, and maybe even three times as big as the subsidies for the municipalities which were part of the project in the first phase, according to the official city website.
The heating plants in Priboj, Mali Zvornik and Novi Pazar have already been put into operation, whereas the construction of the heating plant in Majdanpek is still in progress.
