Vesic: Belgrade-Nis Fast Railroad to Cost Slightly Under EUR 2.8 Billion

The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, has stated that the Belgrade-Nis fast railroad will cost slightly under EUR 2.8 billion and that its construction is “of essential importance” for the development of Serbia.

– Today, a train trip to Nis takes about six hours, and when the fast railroad is finished, it will take exactly 100 minutes. Also, we will continue the construction of the railroad between Belgrade and Novi Sad and the railroad between Novi Sad and Subotica – Vesic said at the session of the National Assembly of Serbia during which several other minister also addressed the MPs.


He also added that the railroad between Novi Sad and Subotica would be completed at the end of 2024 and that the fast railroad between Belgrade and Budapest would also be built in 2025.

– When the railroad between Belgrade and Nis is finished, Nis will be connected with Budapest by fast railroad too – Vesic said.
