International Tourism Fair Opens in Belgrade
The day before the official opening of the gates for the visitors, in the presence of numerous local and foreign guests, among which the representatives of China, this year’s country-partner of the fair, were predominant, a program was organized which marked the beginning of this event, the biggest tourism show in the country and the region, as said on the website of the Belgrade Fair.
Under the slogan “It’s not difficult if it’s a vacation”, from February 23 through 26, 2023, in the halls 1, 1A and 4, around 350 exhibitors from 33 countries are taking part, among them eight new countries from the African continent.
This year as well, the Tourism Fair will also present a large number of popular world destinations with an increasingly varied tourist offer and authentic accommodation capacities adapted to modern tourists. The latest trends in the international tourism industry, as well as innovative concepts and perspectives in the development of the tourism business will be the central topics which will gather both business visitors and fans of travel.
Opening the most important tourism event in the region, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that a big welcome awaited everybody who came to Serbia and that great progress had been made in the preceding years, and added that the income from tourism in 2022 had grown to EUR 2.5 billion.
He said that, in the first month and a half of 2023, the number of foreign tourists in Serbia had increased 53% and the number of overnight stays by 69% compared to the same period in 2022 and that “Serbia is number one in Europe when it comes to the increase in the number of tourists.”
