Most Important Energy Future Topics in One Place – Trebinje Energy Summit from March 22 through 24
The organizers are Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske, the City of Trebinje and the company SET, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Republika Srpska.
– The general public is well familiar with the importance of SET and, this year, we expect a record number of participants, which can already be assumed from the applications made so far. We are announcing the arrival of the biggest energy companies from the region, but also the highest officials of the countries of the region. The aim and the mission is to gather all the relevant experts in one place and to talk about the most current questions and problems from this field and seek solutions to them – said the organizer and SET director Aleksandar Brankovic.
The trends of decentralization, digitization and electrification carry great potential for a revolution of the electrical energy system. The increasing share of renewable sources in the production of electrical energy and, at the same time, their impact on the electrical energy system put increasing demands on an accelerated development of the system. At the same time, due to the increasingly decentralized production of electrical energy in close proximity to the consumers or by the consumers themselves, it is becoming difficult for the suppliers to fulfill the increasingly changing supply and demand. Precisely for this reason, what’s increasingly coming to the fore are concepts and technical solutions such as energy storage, microgrids, adapting to the demand and energy efficiency measures.
The summit involves practically all the relevant representatives of the energy sector in the region, leading people from local companies and institutions which shape the industry, business leaders and creators of energy policies, as well as top local and international experts in energy. At the panels, there will be talk about the topics important to the development of the energy sector and the harmonization of the legislation in the states of the region in this field with the EU directives, energy policy and integration process.
During the three days of the 2023 Trebinje Energy Summit, a plenary session is planned – Acceleration of the Regional Sustainable Plan and the Switch to Clean Energy – The Role of EU, as well as nine panels with the following titles:
Panel 1: Development of the Infrastructure of Electrical Networks and Optimization of the Interconnection Process in the Region
Panel 2: Prosumers in the Region – Legal and Regulatory Framework for Support and Treatment of Small-Scale Generators with a Focus on Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Connected to the Distribution Network
Panel 3: How to Cope with High Energy Prices in the Region
Panel 4: The Role of Distributed Production and Flexibility Services in the Integration of RES and Further Development of the Electricity Market
Panel 5: Mechanisms for Ensuring the Energy Transition for the Benefit of All – Results of the Inclusive Decarbonization Project
Panel 6: Security of the Energy Sector in the Field of Measurement and Transmission
Panel 7: Regional Approach to Energy Supply (Gas, Oil, Coal) During the Energy Crisis with Reference to the Decarbonization Process in the Region
Panel 8: Development of Electromobility in the Region (Smart Charging, Modelling Aspects, Charging Infrastructure, Distribution Grid Issues, Modelling of E-Mobility Aspects, Discussion & Closure)
Panel 9: Operating Reliability of Thermal Energy and Hydro-Energy Plants During the Transition of the Energy Sector in the Region
Naš izbor
SET 2023: Without investment in RES, there will not be sufficient energy, but there is no present or near future without thermal power plants Energy
SET 2023: The region does not yet have an alternative for gas and coal, energy cooperation is necessary, but when a crisis occurs, it's each country for itself Energy
