The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, has opened the reconstructed facility of the Aviation Academy in Belgrade. On that occasion, he signed with the Office for Dual Education the Memorandum of Cooperation on the development of training centers in air, rail and water transport, whereby, in addition to the education of 120 pilots a year, the Aviation Academy would also educate mechanical engineers, flight control staff and other staff.

– The licenses that they will obtain will be valid in the EU, and we will also be able to educate workers from other countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Turkey and North Macedonia, where Belgrade will slowly become a regional center as well – the minister said, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

The state invested over EUR 3 million in the reconstruction of the training center facility, and Vesic announced the reconstruction of another Aviation Academy building, which would feature an ATR aircraft simulator.

Vesic pointed out that the new building would also contain a simulator for Airbus A320, which would also be used for the training for A319 and A321 models.

– All those who finish their education here will get jobs – the minister emphasized and announced new agreements with universities, which would enable the students’ choosing where to do their practice.

The director of the Office for Dual Education, Gabrijela Grujic, estimated that the signing of the memorandum was a continuation of the successful cooperation in connecting the energy of knowledge and institutions.

– The aim is to secure the optimal quality of study and high-school programs, but also of the staff education training – she said and added that the permits to be issued at the Aviation Academy would be harmonized with the EASA standards.

She reminded that the students of the Aviation Academy, young flight controllers, air mechanics and pilots would get vocational engineer diplomas, and that the preparation of a master studies program was also planned. She also announced the reconstruction and modernization of the base in Vrsac.
