New 2023 Insurance Bases 13.4% Higher Compared to Last Year

From the payment for January 2023, new insurance bases apply, which are 13.4% higher compared to last year, and citizens can opt for one of the 13 insurance bases, regardless of the level of education they have, it has been announced on the website of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund.

According to the Law on Contributions for the Mandatory Social Insurance, the lowest insurance base is 35% of the average salary on the state level in the past 12 months, which is RSD 35,025, and the highest one amounts to five average salaries, that is RSD 500,360. The contribution for the pension and disability insurance is 24%, which means that the monthly expenditure for an individual payment of a contribution for the pension and disability insurance will range between RSD 8,406 and RSD 120,086.40.

The amounts of insurance funds and contributions for pension and disability insurance apply throughout 2023 and are available to citizens on the website of the Fund and on the bulletin boards at the branch offices.

The Pension and Disability Insurance Fund reminds the citizens who opt for an individual payment of the contribution on the basis of Article 15 of the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance that the due date is the 15th of the month for the previous month.

– Once selected, the base can be changed, under the condition that a new request is filed. Also, the citizens who no longer want to individually pay the contributions are obliged to file the request for the stopping of the payments – says the website of the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund.
