The fast route Surcin-New Belgrade, which will enable a quicker exit to the Milos Veliki highway from New Belgrade and Zemun, will be completed in March next year, announced the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic.

The minister stated that RSD 40 billion had been set aside for the budget of that ministry in order to complete all the projects in line with the plans.

He also said that the Bypass Route around Belgrade to Bubanj Potok would be completed by June 1, following which all transit traffic could be moved from the center of the capital of Serbia.

According to him, even though cargo traffic in transit is not allowed on the Gazela bridge at the moment, this is not honored in practice, due to which portals with surveillance cameras will be installed there, but also on other traffic routes on which transit cargo traffic is either already banned or will be banned.

The minister said that the Morava Corridor section from Pojate to Makresane, 18 kilometers long, would be completed in early April and that the 28-km long section to Kosevo, above Krusevac, would be completed by the end of September, whereby the city would be connected with Corridor 10.

Also, as he added, the ministry will pay special attention to increasing road safety, so a special sector will be formed which will deal with this serious problem.

When it comes to the amendments to the Law on Planning and Construction, he said that the legal solution was good, that it was time for it to be amended and adapted so as to be even more efficient.

– To clarify, the essence is that the law should provide an ever greater transparency – location requirements will be issued through an e-space and will no longer be in paper form, whereas the investors will have to secure an insurance policy before they register the works, so that, in case of potential accidents, those damaged could get their compensations paid – the minister said, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

Incentives for Green Building

Also, as he added, before obtaining the building permit, the investors will need to provide proof of the flow of construction waste and that it has been handed over to the operator, so as not to create illegal landfills throughout the country.

– Some procedures will be simplified and accelerated, especially when it comes to location requirements and information about the location. We want to stimulate green building, so everything that the state builds will have to have a green building certificate, as well as complexes of over 10,000 square meters – Vesic specified.

He noted that the investors who build ecologically would pay lower building land fees.
