Final Delivery of Equipment for Construction of New Block B3 at TPP Kostolac Arrives – In Operation from October 2023
The minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic, reminded that the capacity of the new block was 350 MW, that is, around 5% of the production capacities of Elektroprivreda Srbije, according to the website of the Ministry.
– If we consider the fact that, in the winter months, we import around 10% of the power consumption, it is clear how much the new 5% will contribute to the security of us all – Djedovic said.
The new facility will be built in line with the highest standards of environmental protection, the cleanest of all the blocks we have, the minister emphasized and thanked the workers engaged on the project.
– At the moment, 1,000 workers are hired, and we have been assured that there will soon be an additional 200 so that the facility could be completed within the set deadline. The plan is to connect the new facility to the network on the Vidovdan holiday [June 28] and to put it into operation in October next year – Djedovic stated.
