Ivana Kokalovic, Regional Director at Epson Serbia – We unite tradition and innovation creating a healthier and better world
What innovations the Epson portfolio currently has, how they help us conserve energy and fight climate change, Ivana Kokalovic, Regional Director at Epson branch office in Serbia reveals in conversation with eKapija.
How can modern technologies be applied in fight against climate change?
– The devices we use every day impact our environment, and the climate change too, less or more. Responsible use and production of these devices can have a huge effect on the world around us. Choosing products based on the Epson inkjet technology reduces energy consumption, green house gasses emission and contributes to slowing down permafrost melting in the Arctic. Considering that heat isn`t needed when transferring color to paper, energy consumption is reduced to a minimum and drastically less waste is generated compared to laser devices. Responsible use of modern technology in fight against climate change can really make a difference, above all, greatly minimize the consumption of electric energy and the general costs of ownership, while conserving the environment.
What sets Epson devices apart from other brands?
– As a company that originated in Japan we follow the philosophy of carefully developing devices based on our own technology. We have invested years of research to develop technology which has no bad impact on our environment. I am pleased to say that for the third year in a row we received EcoVadis platinum rating which makes us the top 1% company in the entire world to implement the principles of sustainable development. That is what essentially sets Epson devices apart from the others in the market.
What is Epson`s HeatFree technology?
– Heat-free technology was developed to increase efficiency as much as possible, reduce costs and minimize adverse effects to the environment at the same time. HeatFree printers use up to 83% less power because they don`t use heat to transfer ink to paper, and instead a unique Piezo element bends with pressure and fires droplets of ink from the printer head. This process requires significantly less energy compared to laser printers, reducing electricity consumption to maximum extent. Aside from energy conservation, another benefit of these device is consistently high quality of printing on various mediums, quick printing thus saving time and money.
Recently, Epson has published its guidelines for business within the corporate purpose statement – “Our philosophy of efficient, compact, and precise innovation enriches lives and helps create a better world.” What does it represent?
– New corporate statement represents the essence of everything that Epson has been doing for years and takes as its mission towards a better and more humane world. Company-s dedication to environment protection and all riches that nature gives to future generations lasts for almost a century. Now we have just more firmly and clearly summarized ideas with which we create our products and we are motivated to continue with the innovations so we could enrich all of our lives and create a better world for future generations. To quote the CEO of our company, Mr Yasunori Ogawa, “I believe we should
