From March next year, a new direct air line from Belgrade to Izmir will be introduced, and the plan is to increase the number of flights on the air lines from Belgrade to Istanbul and Ankara, announced the ambassador of Turkey to Serbia, Hami Aksoy.

He talked to the minister of tourism and youth of Serbia, Husein Memic, about the improvement of the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, with a special focus on cooperation in the fields of tourism and youth policy.

Memic expressed his satisfaction with the fact that, in the first nine months of 2022, with the realized 315,000 overnight stays, tourists from Turkey had placed second on the list of foreign guests in Serbia and pointed to the need to increase the number of existing flights and introduce new air lines between the two countries, in order to additionally incite tourist turnover, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

They also agreed that a joint effort to the end of connecting youth organizations of the two countries was needed, as well as working on an academic exchange, especially considering that Turkey provided scholarships to interested students for study programs at universities in that country.
