Dragacevo to Get New Industrial Zone on 30 Hectares

The construction of the highway section from Pakovrace to Pozega will bring the Milos Veliki traffic route near Dragacevo, where land has already been marked for a future industrial zone which spreads on an area of around 30 hectares.

– The biggest investment in our municipality is the highway, and the section which goes through our territory should be completed by the end of next year. We expect interested investors which will open their companies here to contact us after that, which will have a considerable effect on new employments – pointed out the deputy president of the Municipality of Lucani, Milija Milenkovic.

However, the construction of the highway is not the only investment in the municipality of Lucani, so construction sites can be seen in all parts of the municipality.

The most intensive works at the moment are currently done in Guca. Right next to the grand stage where the best trumpet players compete against each other, a pool is being reconstructed, in which the state invested around RSD 40 million.

– Unfortunately, the floods we have been affected by in the past years have flooded this pool on three occasions. We commenced the reconstruction in 2021 with the help of the funds of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Telecommunications and the local self-government. A protective concrete wall around the pool was built and covered, and this year, the second phase is being done, which entails the reconstruction of the pool itself. Concrete works are being done at the moment, which are to be followed by the setting up of the finishing layer, which means that it will be available to the residents of the municipality of Lucani next season – Milenkovic pointed out.

New roads are being built intensively in the rural area, but the old damaged ones are also being reconstructed. The state set aside around RSD 1 billion for this job.
