The beginning of the serial production of our unmanned aircraft Pegaz is expected to start soon, said the minister of defense of Serbia, Nebojsa Stefanovic, who opened the jubilee 10th International Scientific Conference on Defensive Technologies Oteh 2022 at the Military-Technical Institute.
– In the technological sense, it is extremely important for us all. We are aware that the future of defense, among other things, in addition to quality staff, consists of drones, unmanned aircraft, unmanned vehicles, robots and artificial intelligence, and in that sense, we don’t want to be behind anyone in the world – Stefanovic said.
He added that in the period between the two Oteh events, that is, in a period of two years, a total of 61 arms devices and pieces of military equipment developed locally had been introduced to the arsenal of the Serbian Armed Forces.
– Along with the tank M-84 AS1/2, Oganj and Pasars and the modernized infantry vehicle BVP M-80 AB1, there’s the missile M-19 with a range of 40+ km, which we have successfully tested and which we are introducing to our army’s arsenal, artillery and gun ammunition with better performances and longer ranges and money other devices that increase the combat power of our army – Stefanovic said.
He also pointed out that the testing of another 20 prototypes and seven zero series of various devices and arms was in progress.
