CLS: Not One Dinar for Staro Sajmiste Memorial Center
“Staro Sajmiste” needs to be turned into a memorial complex in honor of all the Jews, Serbs and Roma people murdered during WW2 at the concentration camp in this location. The memorial center should also have an educational character, teaching about the scope and the character of the kind of genocide that must never happen again, Jovanovic added, says the announcement made by the CLS.
– On the state level, the law on “Staro Sajmiste” has already been adopted and a part of the funds have been set aside, so it’s truly baffling that the City is not adequately following this important project – says the director of the CLS.
