Zorana Mihajlovic: Agreement of Serbia and USA on Strategic Cooperation in Energy Prepared for More Than One Year

For more than a year, we have worked on and prepared the draft agreement between the two governments on the strategic cooperation in energy, which would be a very important step in upgrading the cooperation of Serbia and the USA in this field, the minister of mining and energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated today.

She talked to the US ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, about the cooperation in energy, including the signing of the cooperation agreement between the governments of the two states on the strategic cooperation in energy in Serbia.

– Serbia is at the beginning of the energy transition and we need both the experience and the knowledge of those who are ahead of us in that process, if we want to increase the production of clean energy and be secure in terms of energy – the minister said.

She added that Serbia was looking at big energy projects, one of the most important being the project of the first hybrid reversible hydro power plant Djerdap 3.

Hill expressed his expectation that the cooperation of the two countries in energy could be further upgraded, it is said on the website of the ministry.
