The annex to the agreement, signed yesterday at the summit within the Open Balkans initiative, in the field of food security, lists the products which the agreement covers.

These are corn, wheat and spelt, wheat and spelt flour, milk products, white sugar in solid form, sunflower oil, sunflower seed oil, pasta, boiled, non-boiled or filled, grains, grits and spreads for pellets, fruit, fresh and frozen, vegetables, fresh and frozen, as well as meat products, RTS reports.

Let us remind that the leaders of the Open Balkans initiative have agreed for the countries to have priority in the mutual exchange of basic foodstuffs and that there will be no re-exporting of food to third markets.

To the end of supervising the agreement, the countries will establish a joint work group, which will be formed within a month of the coming into effect of the agreement, in order to propose improvements, detect and prevent potential misuse.

The agreement will be in effect for five years, following which it is automatically extended for one-year periods.
