According to the index of artificial intelligence readiness, Serbia ranks 52nd out of 160 countries
However, the benefits of this technological trend are not only reserved for the private sector. According to the Artificial Intelligence Readiness Index for 2021, which ranks 160 countries, our country was placed 52nd.
Serbia was the first country in the region to adopt the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for the period from 2020 to 2025, and the Research and Development Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia was the first of its type in our country and in the region to be established.
Research and development of artificial intelligence at the global level is growing exponentially, and according to the words of Acting Director of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia Dubravko Culibrk, there are numerous possibilities of applying AI (artificial intelligence) in our country as well.
- When we talk about research, the biggest challenge is how to create an ecosystem and conditions within our country that will lead to a truly world-class level of excellence in research in the field of artificial intelligence. Currently, there are individuals and teams that have potential, as well as a large number of our scientists abroad who reach that level, but this is more the exception than the norm - says Culibrk for the website Industrija.
