A project is underway that will enable Belgrade and Srem to transfer wind energy from the southern Banat region.

The city of Belgrade has announced the public display of three urban projects for the construction of transmission lines and substations within the "Beogrid 2025" project.

Urban projects whose investor is Elektromreza Srbije, and which have been developed by Elektroistok doo from Belgrade, refer to construction of a single-system transmission line of 400 kV for the introduction of transmission line no. 450 RP Mladost - TS Novi Sad 3 in TS Beograd 50; the construction of two 2-system transmission lines 110 kV for the introduction of transmission line no. 1178ab TS Belgrade 5 – TS Belgrade 9 in TS Belgrade 50; and for the construction of the 400/110 kV transformer station "Belgrade 50".

The planned route of the 400 kV transmission line for the insertion of transmission line no. 450 RP Mladost - TS Novi Sad 3 in TS Beograd 50, will stretch across the municipalities of Zemun (Cadastral Municipality Ugrinovci), municipality Surcin (CM Dobanovci) and municipality Pecinci (CM Dec and CM Simanovci), with a length of around 12 km.

The construction of the transmission line would enable the connection of the planned transformer station with the existing 400 kV transmission line No. 450, according to the input-output principle.

The substation will cover around 10.8 ha and will be located nearly 2 km from Ugrinovci urban area, and two 2-system transmission lines covering an area of about 72 ha will spread over the cadastral municipalities of Ugrinovci, Zemun polje and Dobanovci and, as stated, will contribute to more stable operation of the electric power system within the territory of said municipalities, enable further industrial development of the area and increase the reliability of power supply.

As explained in the projects, the North Continental Southeast (CSE) ENTSO-E energy corridor of continental Europe is included in the process of creating the pan-European development plan TYNDP 2020. The North CSE corridor has regional importance because it increases the transmission capacity between Serbia and Romania, thereby contributing to the creation of an integrated European electricity market.

This corridor is also extremely important for Serbia's transmission system because it enables the extraction of wind energy from southern Banat, the relief of the existing transformer station of 220/110/35 kV Belgrade 5, and a safer supply of consumers west of Belgrade.

The first component of this project is the construction of the 400/110 kV transformer station "Belgrade 50" with the unbundling of 110 kV and 400 kV lines - the "BeoGrid 2025" project, declared by the Government of Serbia to be a project of high importance for the Republic of Serbia.

The project "BeoGrid 2025" calls for units related to the construction of a new transformer station 400/110 kV "Beograd 50", a single-system 400 kV transmission line for the introduction of DV No. 450 (RP Mladost - TS Novi Sad 3) in TS "Beograd 50"; two 2-system 110 kV transmission lines for the introduction of DV No. 1178 AB (TS Beograd 5 - TS
Belgrade 9) in TS Belgrade 50; two 2-system 110 kV transmission lines for the introduction of DV No. 104/8 (TS Stara Pazova - TS Indjija 2) in TS Belgrade 50; 2-system 400 kV transmission line TS Belgrade 50 - PRP Cibuk 1 with 400 kV equipment fields in PRP Cibuk 1; and a 2-system cable 110 kV TS Belgrade 50 - TS Belgrade 49 (Airport).

- Once this complex project is completed, it will fulfill the need for the new electric power infrastructure. that would strengthen the Srem consumption area of Belgrade with energy. The provided electricity will enable the development of industry and economy in the wider region of Belgrade, Zemun, New Belgrade, Srem region, including the area of Stara Pazova. Simultaneously, the implementation of this project will enable the further development of the Nikola Tesla airport complex - the document states. It will be open for public inspection from August 8 to 16.

To reiterate, EMS recently told eKapija that, in the last seven years, this company has invested around EUR 30 million in a completely new 400 kV and 110 kV transmission network in the area of southern Banat, i.e. it has built two completely new transmission lines: 2x400 kV Pancevo 2 leading to the state border with Romania, and DV 110 kV TS Bela Crkva - TS Veliko Gradiste.

- It was these investments that made it possible for EMS AD to issue the prerequisites for the connection of wind farms in the southern Banat region, approximately 2,400 MW, and due to the great interest of wind farm investors in southern Banat, EMS has also included, within in the investment plan, the construction of a 2-system transmission line 400 kV leading from Cibuk 2 to TS Belgrade 50, part of the Beogrid2025 project - EMS has told our portal.
