Offers for takeover of Optika by five companies

Offers for takeover of Belgrade-based company for design and sale of optical goods have been delivered by three domestic and two foreign companies, one of which is from Italy and the other is from the Seychelles. The interested in Optika are Italian company Liepota Ocialli, Belgrade-based Mega tabak, transportation company Sani from Šabac, Veterinarian Institute from Belgrade and Midhall investment from the Seychelles. The tender will be closed on February 14. The highest price of 2,706 CSD per stock, through Raiffeisen bank, is offered by the company from the Seychelles. All bidders are interested in procurement of at least 50% plus one stock of Optika with the voting right, i.e. up to 60% of stocks.

In the branch office of company Liepota Ocialli from Markari, broker company Beopublikum, it was said that the company would extend the offer for takeover of stocks of Optika, but they could not say whether the initially offered price of 2,642 CSD per stock would be increased. The manager of that Italian company is Ivan Maglica, who was on the position of the regional manager of one of the leading world companies for research of information technologies in the industry, Gartner Croatia, which also offers these services on the market of Serbia and Montenegro.

Of all domestic bidders, Veterinarian Institute offered the highest price – 2,650 CSD per stock. Production-TRansportation Company Sani from Šabac offered the price of 2,643 CSD per stock, whereas Mega tabak offered 2,645 CSD per stock. Accounting value of the stocks of Optika is 4,022 CSD and 48% of the assets are owned by the Share Fund of Serbia, 10% are owned by the Pension-Disability Insurance Fund, about 3% of stocks are public property, whereas about 31% of stocks are the property of minor stockholders. In 2004, Optika realized total income of about €3.3m. The company owns 30 optical stores in Belgrade and 34 facilities in bigger cities in Serbia. Optika employs about 300 workers.
